Hurricanes

A hurricane is an intense tropical storm, which forms over warm tropical oceans when local sea surface temperatures are above 26.5°C (80°F) through a depth of at least 50 meters (160 ft). When the above conditions prevail evaporation from the ocean surface occurs and this creates very high humidity in the atmosphere, subsequently generating thunderstorms that makes hurricanes.
In Atlantic these tropical storms are called hurricane , in pacific ocean off Japan these storms are called typhoon.
Hurricanes are distributed in categories in accordance with Safir Simpson Scale- Category 1,2,3,4,5, where category 3,4,5 are deemed as major hurricanes.
